The US military's Joint Munitions Command ducks their responsibilities for environmental misconduct in Hawai'i. The Army's Pōhakuloa Training Area (PTA) is now site of a "very significant" fire involving depleted uranium (DU) & munitions waste --🔥☢️ Hawai'i is abused by US military bombs & shelling. DU dust particles scattered in & around the lava get washed together & pool in the damp hollows where scrub grows (pollens pool together in a similar process). The plants suck-up water and heavy metals, concentrating the poisons (natural phytoremediation). Burning the scrub is terribly toxic. Pōhakuloa's off-limits ICM (Improved Conventional Munitions) impact area is thus a highly-poisonous danger zone. The military surely is aware that one day, remaining bushes & scrub in DU-polluted areas will be tested & found to contain high levels of deadly pollutants. This is why military public affairs deliberately misleads by labeling this dangerous major fire "Leilani" instead of the "Army" or PTA or Pōhakuloa or RIMPAC fire.
