"Jailed 'Pharma Bro' ordered to repay $64m"
-- BBC News, 14 Jan 2022
Although his firm already agreed to pay $40m, Martin Shkreli is now barred from the pharmaceutical industry for life, and must repay $64.6m for violating anti-monopoly laws. NY Attorney General Letitia James is quoted as saying Shkreli and his partner illegally jacked-up the "price of a life-saving drug as Americans' lives hung in the balance".
But what of pharma firm Mylan and CEO Heather Manchin "EpiPen" Bresch?
They jacked EpiPen prices & forced purchase of two-packs. Sen. Joe Manchin's clever daughter then quit the business after raking-in salary & benefits of over $150 million. The collusive businesses agreed to pay $345m in fines.
'Pharma Bro' sure ain't the only bad apple.
