England Dismisses Europe

As the UK withdraws from the European Union, typical folk suffer new costs.

EU university fees, if any, are now equal to all from the EU as if domestic. Sweden has free tuition for EU students; Brits will soon lose this subsidy. Surely the thousands of UK young people studying in Europe help UK trade after graduation.

A brighter future requires better relations & understanding. Arrogant fortress Britain is the darker future.

Same Old, Same Old

Two Democratic Party leaders best described as "venerable" are Rep. Nancy Pelosi and Sen. Dianne Feinstein. Sadly, each is far more concerned with their personal positioning at the peak of power than with developing progressive policies. Each worked with Bush-Cheney to attack Iraq (at huge cost), magnifying our enemies, building the US federal security state, and starving American communities of funds -- wasting many lives at home & abroad.

I'm wholly dissatisfied with the corporatist Democratic machine; these two spiders control large sticky webs. And Big Money Democratic politico Steny Hoyer is even worse. The corruption of US politics in both major parties runs very deep. To progress we must confront these rigid oldsters: "Thank You for your service. Now git!"

Americans remember the 7 December 1941 surprise attack on Pearl Harbor. But 50 years prior, the USA was just one of many major nations enjoying treaties of friendship & commerce with the militarily-neutral Hawaiian Kingdom.

US support for violent overthrow, aggressive colonization, and property confiscation (esp. lands taken for the US military) makes very many Hawaiians unhappy.   Today.

Such people, however few, represent deep educational failure, and shortsightedness in building future foundations for peace & security.
